Washington D.C.

The National Cathedral

Start with a center line and a line on each spire, one red and one black. A circle centered on the window extended to the outside line touches the top of the small triangle. Use more circles to generate a larger circle and a large triangle. On the right you can see how projecting the top sides of the hexagon to the sides of a triangle creates a pentagram by projecting back to the center. Note that this intercection takes place at the vertical red lines. Note how the top points of the pentagram set the scale for the plan just as in the DC map.

In the image on the left above we bisect the triangle in the central circle. The intersection point is on the red line again, but this time the line connecting those points is tangent to the small circle. The line tangent to the bottom of that circle is the base of the 51+ degree triangle which is what we see peaking over the roof line. In the map below you can see the 51+ degree traingle again. In the case of the map, the triangle with a pentagram inside was shortened.

The DC Planning Map

See the map image below and note especially the square lot east of the White House on 8th Street. 8th is half way between the WH and CB (east west wise). The point where the circle, square and blue line cross south of that square is where the National Archives Building is located. The top of the square passes through Scott Circle.

A circle centered on Scott Circle shows that it is equidistant between the point of the triangle and the WH. A large circle locates the point that distance south of the WH. This is where the Jefferson Memorial would have been is the CB had been located further south. Note the bend in Penn Ave. The bend is Mass Ave appears to begin at the edge of the circle.

Connecting the points of the right side of the pentagram helps locate the ideal position of the CB. Below the big circle is in blue now. This is after the Pentagon Building was built. Notice how the front of that is directed to the ideal location of the CB!! At the same bearing as New York and Rhode Island Ave's. You also see that New Hampshire was projected across the river to locate the cemetery, then it was reflected back to the Ellipse at that angle too.

The red circle above is centered in the Ellipse; it touches the top of the triangle and the ideal CB location. Notice the circular building on that line west of there. That is the Eight Street axis. North of there is the Archives Building, the square east of the WH, and Mt Vernon Square. The outer red circle centers on the Ellipse and touches the center of the Pentagon Building and Arlington Cemetry.
