Metatron's Cube
Metatron's Cube consists of thirteen circles and the lines which connect the centers of those, and it is virtually identical to the Norse Tree of Life.
![]() The image on the right above is entitled "The Nine Worlds of the Odinic Mysteries", and is taken from Manley P. Hall's book "Secret Teachings of All Times". This is the basic shape of Yggdrasil, the Nordic version of the Tree of Life, which consists of nine spheres. The four outer circles are given the names of the four winds or cardinal directions. You will note that in this tree, the earth is at the middle, and the sun, as the goal of the spirit, is at the top. The three major axes are just like the x, y, z Cartesian grid used in geometry, depicting the six directions in space. The equal-armed Templar Cross is the 2D version of this. Hall tells us that the Nordic Mysteries were given in nine caverns or chambers, with the candidate "advancing through them in sequential order, and suggests that there is undoubtably a relationship between the nine worlds of the Scandinavians and the nine planes or spheres of the Eleusian Mysteries. There appears to be a parallel, as well, with the Masonic legend of the nine apartments or chambers excavated by Enoch and Methusala, in which Enoch secreted (hid) a white Cube which bore a golden Triangle containing the true name of God. Note the large triangle in the Metatron's Cube (above left). The Royal Arch Degree which deals with the legend of Enoch and the nine chambers, is the thirteenth degree of the Scottish Rites. You will note that according to legend, upon being translated to the Throne of God, after having spent 365 years on the earth, Enoch became the Archangel Metatron. The cube in the Enoch story is Metatron's Cube.
Looking at the DC map we see the three axes of the cube figure depicted by 1) 16th Street, the N-S line through the White House (at the center of the figure), 2) Pennsylvania Avenue, running from NW to SE, and 3) New York Avenue, running from NE to SW.
![]() The six points around the center are provided by Scott Circle (north of the WH), Mt Vernon Square (moving clockwose), the National Archives Building, the Washington Monument, the Navy Medical and Surgical Center and Washington Square. The top and bottom points are the Scottish Rites House of the Temple at the top of the cube and the Jefferson Memorial at the bottom. The Capitol Building is in the SE corner, while Georgetown is at the NW corner. The NE corner falls at the intersection of North Capitol Street and N Street (N is the 13th letter), while no monument is at the SW corner. Note that the SE section of Penn Ave has a bend in it due to the CB having been placed north of the actual corner. You will note also that the bottom corners of the pentagram mark two of the corners of the inner rectangle, and that the N-S axis through these points quarter the large rectangle east and west; and that the top corners of the pentagram mark axes that quarter the inner rectangle.
The Kabbalistic Tree of LifeThe A-shaped Tree of Life fits Metatron's Cube like this. Note that the emphasis here is on geometric figures and not the three axes that we saw above. This tree has ten spheres instead of just nine, requiring the top one to be split in two. In this tree form, they are moved to the edges of the triangle, where the sides of the hexagon project to, forming the pentagon. The other eight spheres are the same as on the nine sphere tree.
![]() This version of the tree, featuring the pentagon, maps to the dodecahedron which has 12 pentagonal faces; and reminds us of the masonic coffin.

![]() The Tree of Life maps thusly to the DC map. Here Scott Circle marks the top of the hexagon, and Logan and DuPont Circles mark the top corners of the pentagon.
